No Plans To Bring Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 To Switch

No Plans To Bring Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 To Switch

While the Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 reveal was very, very exciting and many of us are super pumped up for the game. There was one small thing that kind of ate away at me once the reveal was over and I was starting to process it. What about the Nintendo Switch?

Activision has always supported Nintendo consoles very well, even the Wii U had Call Of Duty show up on it and there was a string of Call Of Duty games for the Wii, Nintendo DS and even going back to the Game Cube.

Many thought that with the Nintendo Switch selling like chocolate covered hot cakes, Activision would want a piece of that action and bring Call Of Duty to the Switch. Well, Yale Miller who is one of the top dogs at Treyarch said that there were no plans to bring Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 to the Nintendo Switch.

I think the key here is Black Ops 4. They never said Call Of Duty in general, but specifically Black Ops 4. During the Wii days when the console could not replicate what the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 were doing, Wii owners got their own ports of each Call Of Duty game and some of them worked very well. I though, feel that with a few scale backs, Call Of Duty could work on the Nintendo Switch and it would be a huge success, the Switch still needs that big first person shooter game!

Call Of Duty and the Nintendo Switch seem like a winning combination, so hopefully, at some point, we will see the series show up on the console.

Thoughts On Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout

Thoughts On Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout

We all knew that there was going to be a Battle Royale mode in Call Of Duty Black Ops 4. Thanks to the reveal we know that this mode is called Blackout and it looks like a lot of fun.
Many games are going to have a Battle Royale mode in them this year, but they are going to have to go some to top what Call Of Duty is doing.
While it never said how many players would be in a match. It did say that this is the largest map ever and it is made up of parts of some of the best maps from the Black Ops series. Black Ops is one of the most popular sub series in COD so it is great to see that they are bringing back some of the popular characters from the past.
One of the most interesting things though was that they said that this map can be traversed by land, sea, and air! So there are going to be vehicles as part of this Battle Royale mode. I think that is a very interesting dynamic and I am sure being able to jump in a vehicle is going to save my butt many, many times.
The reveal did not go super into detail about what exactly we can expect, but the little bits that it did show us were enough to get the whole internet excited. I really think that Activision is on a winner with Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 and if I were another shooter releasing this year I would be a little bit nervous.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Looks Great

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Looks Great

The big reveal has finally happened, we finally know what the plans for Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII are. We all knew that the campaign was gone, but Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII looks like it is split into three different modes.
Multiplayer: In the trailer, multiplayer looks like a lot of fun. No regenerating health! You either heal yourself or get a dude called Crash to do it for you. Many people are saying that the multiplayer trailer they showed off had a kind of Overwatch look to it. One interesting thing is that there is no wall running or boost jumping. I thought for sure this would be in, but I am wondering if skills like this will be designated to a certain class.
Zombies: I really wish we saw more of zombies, but I am sure that will be coming at E3. It looks like rather than one long story, Zombies is going to have mini stories set during different periods of time. In the trailer, one section was a Roman Coliseum and the other looked like the freaking Titanic!
Blackout: Blackout is the Call OF Duty take on the Battle Royale phenomena. Treyarch did a great job in teasing this and it features many parts of our favorite maps, characters, weapons and vehicles from the Black Ops franchise. This mode is going to be absolutely huge and I for one cannot wait to play it.
I think the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII event was fantastic. I was already excited about the game, but this reveal really makes it look like one of the best Call Of Duty games in years.

Call Of Duty Campaigns Nobody Plays Them Anymore

Call Of Duty Campaigns Nobody Plays Them Anymore!

Let me start by saying that I have finished every Call Of Duty campaign and I think that they are far better than they get credit for. However, for years people have said “people only buy Call Of Duty for the multiplayer” and I always knew that was true, but I was still sure many people played and enjoyed the campaigns……. Turns out I was wrong, very wrong!
Those crazy folks at True Achievements did some major homework on the stats for the Call Of Duty campaigns. Incredibly only two games have a campaign completion stat of over 30 percent. These are Call Of Duty 3 and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3!
The Modern Warfare series is the most interesting as each game had more and more people complete the campaign, so clearly, people got invested in the story and those that missed 1 and then 2 were interested enough in the story to see how it all played out.
The most staggering stat for me is Call Of Duty Black Ops. I am really bummed out that Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 is not going to have a campaign, but after looking at these stats it is easy to see why. Call Of Duty Black Ops I and II had an over 25 percent completion rate. What did Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 have? 4 percent…. That is not a typo, of all the people that played Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 on Xbox, only 4 percent bothered to play through the campaign. It goes without saying that if there was a COD game to test missing out the campaign on it is this one.
A couple of the more interesting stats are the “futuristic games”. Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare had 30 percent completion rate. Before this game came out, there was a lot of hype around the acting and quality of the campaign. Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare has a completing rate of around 16 percent. This is heartbreaking as so much effort clearly went into that campaign, but people were not interested.
I am a big supporter of the Call Of Duty campaigns, but with these stats, it is easy to see why Activision has decided that enough is enough and are not having a campaign in Call Of Duty Black Ops 4.
